Three PowerPoints


1. PowerPoint One - What are Instructions?  22 slides Dusty the robot learns how captions, rules, signs and recipes all give instructions (tell him what to do) he learns about bossy words (verbs) and has a brief introduction to recipes both ‘normal’ and fantasy.


2. PowerPoint Two - How To Look After A Goldfish 27 slides Tommy wants a pet but his mum tells him that he can’t have one until he knows how to look after it. With the help of a funny little note pad character he learns all about the instructions he needs to help him and how to write them so he won’t forget.


3. PowerPoint Three - How To Write Instructions 18 slides

Continues to recap and build on PowerPoint Two. Explains how to write instructions ‘How to make a jam sandwich’ - ‘How to clean your teeth’ - ‘How to make a newspaper hat’ - ‘How to make a LEGO house’. Recaps the elements of instructional writing including writing steps in correct order, using bossy verbs etc. There are sets of work sheets (cut & stick sequencing) to match the instructions slides on this PowerPoint. (see below)


4. Four PDF files with worksheets, cut & stick sequencing activities differentiated—see preview for list of what is in these six files.
